We are always looking for ways to provide our customers with a better service. One of our projects is to review the Components Direct part of our business. Components Direct provides customers with a quick and straightforward way to buy from a core range of fasteners and components.
Businesses are changing the way they work. We want to make sure all our customers from around the world can order parts from us how and when it suits them. In the quantities they need at the price they want to pay.
So we have hired two interns from Nottingham Business School at Nottingham Trent University, Richard Rosewarne (right in the photograph) and Matt Stansfield (left in the photograph). They will help with the research and planning for a new improved business model.
The Nottingham Business School has rapidly built a reputation for research and education that has a positive impact on people, business and society. In the Guardian University Guide Nottingham Business School is ranked 6th in the country for Graduate Prospects for the Business, Management and Marketing course both our interns are taking.
Hoodies, hurdles and Hydrangeas
Rich and Matt both have a great academic record at the NTU Business School. But they still make time for interesting extra-curricular activities. Rich set up and ran an online business buying and selling clothes. He certainly wasn’t competing with Primark. Instead he traded in new and second hand items from niche brands including Supreme, Bape and Palace and built up an international client base. He also competed in the National Schools Athletics finals representing the East Midlands in the 110m Hurdles, coming third in his group.
Matt worked on a Business in the Community project alongside a local church. The project has been held up by COVID 19. But the church still hope to build a community garden soon. Both are keen football fans with Matt supporting Reading and Rich Derby. Which might be a bit controversial at JET PRESS!
A New Look for Components Direct
First Rich and Matt will research the market and find out what customers want and what else is out there. When they have finished their research we will build a new web site based on their findings. But it’s not just about a new web site.
They are both convinced that a strong social media presence can help increase interest in Components Direct. Rich is looking at the potential for a Reddit community and Matt believes tutorials on YouTube will help people better understand how some Components Direct products work.
